It is therefore wise to produce gardens that work within our climatic conditions and not only does lavender approve the drier conditions it is beneficial as a companion plant in the garden. At this time of the year, the lavender flowers attract bees which in turn can fertilize tomato or melon flowers. Nature working at its best!

    Hot purples of the stoechas family are a sight to see as well as over hundred roses in flower including favourite Standard David Austin Roses, Heritage, Mary Rose and the Pilgrim. In the southern garden the lilacs have been outstanding with bushes of white, lilac, deep purple and the most unusual white edged deep purple petal flowers with a perfume so sweet.

    Teatrick Lavender Estate is situated near Wolseley, 17km south of Bordertown.

    Lavender is a hardy, drought-tolerant, perennial plant. The flowers produce a superb essential oil, extracted by steam distillation. This oil continues to be a virtual medicine chest.

    Lavender is a natural antiseptic, is calming to the body, soothing to the skin, has a relaxant effect on the nervous system and induces peaceful slumber.

    Lavender is the sweetest herb - evocative and the best loved of all fragrances.

    Teatrick Lavender Estate uses the best environmental growing practices, free of insecticides and pesticides, to create its lavender produce and products.

    Another one of Liz’s passions is to create lavender culinary delights, allowing people to discover the properties of lavender in food as a herbal treat.
